Line of Business: Audit - Professional Practices/Process - Mid Management

Primary Objectives:

Provide independent software support to Audit Services related to mainframe and distributed application systems that support business processes and information needs throughout the Corporation. Develop or modify programs to solve simple to moderate business problems considering audit needs, application capabilities, and industry requirements.



Essential Responsibilities:

1. Work with clients and team members to develop technical solutions for simple to moderate business problems including the gathering of client requirements, data analysis and design tasks.

2. Perform program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation tasks in accordance with Application Data Services’ Standards and Procedures as well as with Audit Services’ software support procedures as documented in the Audit Policy Manual.

3. Provide software support, which includes problem research, analysis, and resolution.

4. Work independently with guidance from other more experienced team members as necessary, to develop a working knowledge of all relevant computer applications operating in the same or integrated environments.

5. Maintain rapport with external auditors/bank examiners and assist in the coordination efforts to ensure prompt and efficient software support during their review/examination.

6. Stay abreast of the latest technology architecture and “best practices” in the technology marketplace.



Minimum Required Skills or Competencies:

1. Four year college degree in business, computer science, information systems, or related field.

2. 3-7 years programming/analysis experience, preferably in banking or auditing environment.

3. Working knowledge of Easytrieve and SAS programming languages, as well as Mainframe, JCL and TSO knowledge.

4. Working knowledge of database programming languages such as SQL, Oracle, and DB2.

5. Good analytical, facilitation, interpersonal and decision-making skills.

6. Good written and oral communication skills, as well as negotiating skills.

7. PC literate using BB&T standard software packages, as well as data analytic tools such as ACL, Access, etc.

8. Possess creativity and innovation qualities - think “outside the box”.

9. Demonstrate the ability to be a team player both inside and outside the Department.

10. Demonstrate World Standard Client Service.

11. Willingness to travel when necessary, including overnight.
