Joe Description: UNIX Systems Administrator



Line of Business: OPS - IT SERVICES



Primary Purpose: Under light supervision, the UNIX Systems Administrator will provide UNIX and Linux hardware and system software support.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other Duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Configure and maintain UNIX and Linux operating systems and system software, and provide hardware, backup and recovery, system monitoring, application, disaster recovery, security, audit, and tool support. Additional responsibilities include system availability and performance management, and capacity planning assistance.

2. Provide 24x7 on call technical support, as required.

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and four years relevant experience or eight years experience in Information Technology.

2. Proficient in UNIX and Linux system administration and script languages.

Special Skills Required:

1. Red Hat Enterprise Linux (5 years).

2. IBM / AIX (3 years).

3. Sun / Solaris (2 years).

4. Scripting in sh/ksh, Perl, and Python (3 years).

6. Good work ethic, planning, organizational, and problem solving skills.

9. Experience with virtual servers, clustered servers, SAN and NAS connectivity, and
