Line of Business: OPS - IT SERVICES Job Category: Professional Primary Purpose: Under the direction of the Resource Planning Manager, work independently with Line of Business (LOB) management throughout the Bank to provide information on the forecasted capacity needs of existing applications to support the services and infrastructure needs of BB&T, the steps to take to ensure that future needs are met, the cost to budget in order to meet needs, and the appropriate time to implement changes. Additionally, work as a member of project teams, providing the same information relative to the resource requirements for new applications. Monitor, analyze, and plan for evolution of existing infrastructure and perform special analyses and ad hoc reporting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other Duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time. 1. Coordinate all resource planning activities, including but not limited to: * Collect planning information from LOB clients and IT management * Ensure ongoing efficiency of resource planning functions * Participate in acquisition planning and processes 2. Review current workload characteristics; use highly analytical modeling to predict future resource requirements; develop future forecasts. 3. Based on strategy and trends, develop capacity forecasts and recommendations to ensure proper utilization and growth. 4. Supervise the production and publication of workload analysis and resource utilization reporting, including ad hoc reports. 5. Provide guidance and education to Resource Planning Analysts and non-resource planning staff/management in other IT areas. Required Skills and Competencies: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree, either in Information Technology related field or business or equivalent education and related training 2. Twelve years of experience in a large-scale systems environment(s), with a minimum of six years related to resource planning responsibilities 3. Experience working directly with both technical and business management, including higher-level management, on business planning issues 4. Strong understanding of statistical analysis and modeling techniques 5. Demonstrated ability to creatively develop solutions to complex problems 6. Ability to translate high-level business planning information into technical information, and vice versa 7. Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel 8. Ability to travel as needed
