PURPOSE -

To provide the full range of productivity services to the Heinz North America Manufacturing Operations and Co-Pack Factories

1. To direct cost reduction, quality improvement, and specification compliance programs for the manufacturing facilities.

2. To design and direct a continuous improvement process throughout all facilities and product lines.

3. Provide strategic direction in major capital projects that align with quality improvement, customer satisfaction, and cost reduction objectives. Make versus buy analysis.

4. Direction in disciplines of Best Practices including, but not limited to, yield improvement, process capability, specification development, specification compliance, manpower utilization, overhead spend, capital utilization, indirect spend, factory utilization, factory efficiency, work capital both raw material and finished goods.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES -

1. To be the Technical expert with the Operation and Supply Chain Continuous Improvement process.

2. To coordinate product/process quality initiatives that align factory capability, supply chain development, and customer/consumer requirements from design through product implementation.

3. Generate cost reduction and quality improvement opportunities/direct the engineering activities along with manufacturing to initiate/implement process improvement to reduce manufacturing costs and variability.

4. Coordinate major initiatives across the supply chain to insure optimum cost. This coordination will include, but not be limited to, purchasing, distribution, manufacturing, R&D, Quality, packaging and engineering.

5. Implement and train Lean / Sigma processes to factory location personnel and HQ Technical Services personnel (Research and Development/Quality Assurance/Packaging/CRC).

KNOWLEDGE:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Food Science or Industrial Engineering. To understand continuous improvement technologies, equipment design and process design

SKILLS:
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certified

- Good understanding of Continuous Improvement Systems, Processes, Technologies

- Ability to Lead and/or Facilitate Kaizens

COMPETENCIES:
- Able to mentor, coach, teach, and do utilizing the Lean-Sigma toolbox detailing thought and process mapping, value stream mapping (VSM), documenting project status, and eliminating waste in identified processes. Assists in the identification and prioritization of improvement project opportunities

- Able to facilitate data-driven statistical approaches to problem solving; gathering and analyzing project data

- Able to provide mentoring and coaching to team leaders and members

EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years operational experience or equivalent educational background

- Extensive involvement and increasing responsibility in factories and operations demonstrating continuous improvement results

- USDA / FDA knowledge and experience

- Preferably 1-3 years in food industry
