Job Description

JOB SCOPE/ SUMMARY:
* Plan and oversee the manufacturing operations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plan, oversee and budget all manufacturing operations to include maintenance and physical condition of the facility.
2. Ensure proper staffing and training of all positions in the plant.
3. Ensure adherence to operational budgets and proper quantities are available of raw materials and packing goods.
4. Direct and review scheduling of manufacturing operations to ensure safe production of quality products.
5. Develop and review methods for manufacturing, processing, filling and implement modification when necessary.
6. Propose, develop and justify annual multi million dollars operating, expense and capital expenditure budgets.
7. Oversee and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, environmental rules, regulations, policies and training requirements. Ensure proper documentation and record keeping.
8. Investigate and resolve employee complaints and production problems.
9. Research feasibility and application of major equipment changes or facility upgrades. Initiate programs and processes for improved product quality
10. Manage selection, training and supervision of staff for all departments and conduct meetings to review plant issues.
11. Implement Safety and Continuous Improvement programs.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Educational attainment equivalent to Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, related field or experience is required
Master’s degree preferred
Broad and progressively responsible manufacturing, management, operations, cost control and safety experience is required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES RECOMMENDED FOR POSITION:
Broad knowledge of manufacturing operations, paint chemistry, processing and plant capacity
Considerable knowledge of management, supervision and leadership procedures
Project management skills
Ability to define, prepare and analyze production reports, budgets and capital costs
Organization and interpersonal skills
Recruitment, selection, training and supervision experience
Thorough knowledge of OSHA, DOT and Environmental regulations
Thorough knowledge of applicable wage hour laws

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to incur some occasional out of state travel
