Overview:
As a human capital expert and member of the HR Executive Team, the HR Business Partner Leader (HRBPL) contributes to the development of human resource strategies across the enterprise. Further, as a strategic partner with executive management and senior leadership teams, the HRBPL aligns human capital strategy with the business objectives in the Corporate Business areas, which include Financial Management & Control, Information Technology, Law and Corporate Secretary, and Internal Audit. The HRBPTL serves as a consultant and change agent, bringing to bear the appropriate expertise and resources to deliver timely and effective human capital solutions.
This position reports to the EVP, Human Resources, who in turn reports to the President & CEO. Reporting into this position will be three Human Resource professionals. This role interfaces directly and serves as a business strategist and confidant to the following key clients and respective leadership teams: Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary; Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer. This position supports business objectives by ensuring business agendas appropriately consider the broad range of human capital issues and programs.
The HRBPL will contribute to the development of HR strategy and plans for the enterprise as a member of the HR Executive Team and ensure that assigned business area interests and opportunities are appropriately represented in the HR business planning process. Also, the position will collaborate with HR Business Partner colleagues, HR Centers of Expertise (COE), and other internal constituencies. As a strategic partner to executive and senior leadership in the Corporate Business areas, this position will ensure that all necessary HR expertise is available to clients to proactively meet their business needs. As well, the HRBPL will collaborate with executive management to manage and resolve complex employee relations matters at the senior level. This focus will ensure senior level employee relations matters are promptly and thoroughly investigated and resolved.
Responsibilities:
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
* Effectively and accurately assess the state of human capital across the Corporate Business areas and use that assessment to contribute to the development of human capital strategy for the enterprise.
* Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the Corporate Business areas including financial position; short, mid, and long-term plans; culture; and competitive landscape to inform human capital strategy.
* In partnership with executive management, assess and anticipate human capital needs and develop appropriate solutions to meet business requirements.
* Coordinate with other HRBPLs and HR COEs to develop integrated human capital plans and project initiatives which are consistent with the overall HR strategy for the company.
* Manage direct reports to ensure human capital initiatives are seamlessly and professionally executed throughout the assigned client areas.
* Participate as a member of client senior leadership teams representing the human capital dimension in business discussions; analyze internal and external data to inform HR solutions and approaches.
* Serve as a performance consultant to increase productivity and retention, improve work relationships, and build morale.
* For client areas, lead the rollout of corporate HR initiatives such as talent review, diversity programs, mentoring programs, and engagement surveys. Champion corporate programs and ensure they are implemented in a manner relevant to the client.
Qualifications:
Candidates will possess a minimum of ten years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner, with at least five at the management level. Experience in a similarly complex environment is required where responsibilities included close partnering with key senior executives. He/she will have broad knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including performance management, succession planning, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, organizational effectiveness/development, employee relations, and diversity. Candidates will possess a thorough knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce legal risks.

EDUCATION:
A Bachelors degree is required. A Masters degree and SPHR certification is preferred.
