Description:

Tenet is currently hiring for a Regional Coding Specialist, located in FL. As the Regional Coding Specialist you will get to work in the comfort of your own home and be responsible for accurate coding and abstracting of clinical information from medical records. Other duties include:

Maintain coding data quality and integrity
Some occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the facilities to attend Tenet Coding Seminars for both inpatient and outpatient coding
Attend Quarterly Coding Updates and all coding conference calls
Qualifications:

minimum 4-6 years of Medicare inpatient and outpatient coding experience
2-4 years experience with encoders and computerized abstracting systems
RHIA, RHIT, or CCS credentials
Advanced knowledge of ICD-9-CM and CPT coding principles and rules
Intermediate knowledge of disease processes
Intermediate knowledge of DRG classification and reimbursement structures
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Coding proficiency demonstrated by successful completion of Tenet coding exercise
Excellent organizational skills for initiation and maintenance of efficient work flow
Capacity to work independently and effectively from home
