Description
Looking for self-starter to work on a billion dollar 345/115kV Transmission Line Project in Maine. This is a ground floor opportunity to grow with a newly formed T&D branch office.
Responsible for overseeing the design of foundations, steel towers, and wood pole structures for high voltage (115-345kV) transmission line projects. Manage preparation of construction specifications and drawings. Provide field support during construction. Provide input to project schedule and sourcing packages. Coordinate and implement system outage planning in support of construction sequencing.
May develop and evaluate plans for major projects. May asses feasibility or soundness of proposed applications when data is insufficient or testing is advisable. May coordinate departmental or divisional project studies, reports or project design assignments. Progressive design and project management responsibilities. Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members. Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. Some marketing responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from accredited program. Minimum 7 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience). Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in scheduling and budgeting. Ability to work in a team environment. Experience with STAAD, RISA-3D, PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE and AutoCAD Land Development preferred.
This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous utility or consulting experience preferred. Professional Engineer.
