Description: Do you have a passion for solving complex business problems? KPMG’s Advisory Services Practice focuses on fundamental business issues — managing risk, increasing revenues, controlling costs — that organizations, across various industries, should address in order to help them flourish. We help companies to identify and manage risks inherent in business processes and technology systems that support business objectives, and provide them with the information needed to help them meet their strategic and financial goals. Services are specialized to help clients mitigate risks across an overall risk spectrum. We are currently seeking a Manager to join us in our Chicago office.

Organizations are constantly being asked by their stakeholders to improve performance, enhance revenue, optimize costs and manage risk. Through Business Performance Services (BPS), KPMG can help clients achieve these goals to create sustainable value over the long term.

Business Effectiveness professionals help clients streamline and combine people, processes, technology, and controls to improve operating effectiveness, lower costs, reduce redundancy, and lower risks. The team focuses on physical operations and supply chain management improvements including manufacturing, distribution, logistics, procurement, sourcing, and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead client engagements and work streams related to supply chain and operational improvement projects
• Help execute process transformation, measurable improved operational performance, and organizational restructuring
• Establish client value propositions that tie financial metrics and CFO focus areas directly to operations business improvement
• Provide oversight of highly skilled client and KPMG work teams throughout the project lifecycle and help ensure timely execution of project deliverables
• Participate in continual development and publication of thought leadership and service offerings
• Assist with the creation of proposals and other business development activities
• Manage, motivate and develop team members

Qualifications:

• Five years of combined advisory or relevant industry experience in operations and/or supply chain management (procurement operations experience is preferred)
• Two years of operational advisory experience
• BS/BA degree in finance, engineering, operations analysis or a related discipline from an accredited college/university
• Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing credentials preferred
• Demonstrated experience directing meaningful process and strategy improvements
• Working understanding of financial reports, CFO metrics and financial management processes
• Solid understanding of operations and supply chain concepts required for excellence in a highly engineered, long cycle program driven business environment
• Experience leading large-scale change initiatives
• Experience in the development of proposals, deliverables and reports
• Seasoned presentation and facilitation skills
• Ability to travel extensively
