Description Ensure the health, safety, and well being of the children and faculty. Ensure a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment. Design and implement health and safety training and provide information to staff and families. Maintain positive relationships with families, children and co-workers. Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times by meeting physical demands of the position. Implement health and safety training, including but not limited to CPR, first aid, blood borne pathogens, universal precautions, hand washing and diapering procedures (using Bright Horizons guidelines and policies and state regulations). Design additional health and safety trainings as needed. Demonstrate respect for diversity. Share resources with families and staff. Conduct research and provide information on various health and safety issues. Act as primary contact in the event of any illness/accident resulting in an injury at the center. Administer any health care as deemed necessary. Administer and keep a record of medication based on state requirements and center policies. Maintain accurate records of parent/guardian signatures for medication distribution. Maintain appropriate contact with parents/guardians and teachers regarding medication. Ensure that student immunization records are in compliance with all requirements. Inform parents/guardians of non-compliance or upcoming immunization needs and ensure that forms and documentation needed are completed. Supervise mildly ill children, following all safety and health rules. Perform daily health checks and make decisions about children’s daily attendance. Complete daily health and safety checks within the center environment (indoor and outdoor) and make adjustments and provide training as needed in areas of health and safety. Schedule, oversee, and document monthly fire drills and other drills (severe weather, earthquake). Must be 18 years of age and have a high school degree or GED. Meet federal and state requirements. Documentation of LPN or RN status. Experience working with young children required. Experience training adults preferred.
