Long Description:
Role Summary/Purpose
The EHS Specialist will coordinate the daily activities for the plant’s health and safety program. In this role you will exercise independent judgment to promote employee awareness, compliance and participation in meeting or exceeding plant and GE Security health and safety goals. Attend additional, training to build fundamental and advanced EHS knowledge and skills.

Essential Responsibilities
· Lead and coordinate the safety process for the plant.
· Ensure that employees utilize Gensuite for safety concerns and make recommendations to management when appropriate
· Interface with hourly employees and management on issues of safety and health
· Participate in Accident/Incident Investigation
· Coordinate the monthly operating rhythm of the 21 Framework Elements.
· Maintain GE’s “Gensuite” record keeping system
· Lead plant Health and Safety Training Programs
· Support EHS Mgr and Nurse on issues of workers comp, plant injuries, and wellness programs
· Assist EHS manager as appropriate with regulatory agencies, GE Security EHS and Corporate Environmental Program employees
· Due to the nature of this position, participation in plant leadership meetings and training programs will be required

Qualifications/Requirements
· Associate degree or higher in a technical field

· Proficiency with applicable computer systems and software (i.e. MS Word and Excel)
· Four year degree in EHS or related Field of study
· Prior EHS / Manufacturing experience as Co-Op or Intern
