Long Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr. Specialist is responsible for providing and/or coordinating all EHS activities for the North Dakota Operations and Production Group. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing Safety and Health programs in order to maintain a safe, hazard/accident free workplace and to ensure compliance with the company's policies/procedures and with local, state and federal regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide visible EHS support to North Dakota Developments and Construction group by conducting site visits to establish and build a working relationship with the workforce. The purpose is to communicate and understand the potential risks and needs of the workforce and to assist in recognizing and minimizing potential hazards
Assist with the continued development and implementation of Hess EHS Policies and Procedures, EHS Training Programs and Emergency and Medical Response Procedures to ensure that the highest level of compliance and readiness is achieved
Coordinate the EHS orientation for new employees and contractors
Facilitate and perform EHS Reviews of new and existing contractors to ensure they meet Hess Contractor Requirements
Provide Synergi oversight and monitor cases to ensure incidents are adequately investigated and that corrective actions are implemented and completed
Serve as a member of the incident investigation team to assist with incident investigations as directed
Analyze EHS Data, identify trends if present, and make recommendations to improve performance
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 3-5 years EHS experience in E&P operations (ideally including construction and development projects)
Highly effective interpersonal skills
Effective written and oral communication skills
Must be familiar with basic Microsoft office software
Ability to work in a team oriented environment
Ability to influence and train others in EHS programs
Knowledge of State and Federal EHS regulations, general safety procedures, NFPA guidelines, and Hazardous Materials regulations
College degree preferred
