Long Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for supporting the Facility Team as a regulatory and technical assistant. The technical assistant role has primary responsibility for permitting and the collection and management of data to support permitting activities. This position works closely with North Dakota personnel, both Operations/Engineering and Administrative/Accounting groups, to provide a wide range of regulatory oversight and analytical support. This role must ensure timely and accurate filings and excellence in communications to/from Base Production functions. The person in this position will also be responsible for creating, updating and providing maps for presentation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and submit various permits with input from multiple disciplines
Conduct on-site visits and create accurate diagrams for SPCC program
Work with Land Department and Production Personnel to plan and prepare for hearings and/or exemption applications
Prepare hearing documents for production facility hearings
Assist the team with data acquisition, report preparation and analysis
Aid in the organization and management of shared drives and website
Create maps
Provide frequent updates and revisions to map database of well sites, pipelines and facilities per active drilling program requirements
Migrate current AutoCAD based maps to GIS based software
Manage database of the GIS maps to link to other sources of information
Perform technical work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
Respond to requests from multiple people and manage work scheduling

Qualifications

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Proficiency in AutoCAD & MS Office is essential
Proficiency in ESRI's and ArcGIS suite is essential
Strong computer skills and database utilization skills
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and practices in North Dakota
Ability to comprehend production and development activities
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ( a team player )
Knowledge of COADE software would be a plus
Knowledge of GPS units and post-processing software would be a plus
Ability to use, troubleshoot and maintain large format plotting equipment
Familiarity with tanks vessels, piping, valves, instrumentation and metal fabrication is helpful
EXPERIENCE PROFILE:
5+ years of oil and gas industry experience and having worked in oil and gas facilities
Regulatory permitting and compliance exposure-preferably in North Dakota
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent required
College degree desirable
