Description

This is a part time, temporary, on-call position with no benefits associated with it.

Work location is Albuquerque New Mexico

Under moderate supervision, provides technical support for entry-level projects including design, installation, maintenance, testing, evaluation and operation of systems.
The following is specific to this position:
Setup and operation of data acquisition systems
Fielding of transducers such as pressure gages, accelerometers, and thermocouples
Design, upgrade, and maintain robotic instrumentation platforms
Design and implement hardware/software solutions for instrumentation systems

In this position may also:
Serves as the customer interface for technical, operational, and administrative information and for resolving technical issues.
Assists with the planning, scheduling, implementation, and monitoring of work on basic projects.
Provides technical support and instruction to staff and customers regarding equipment standards. Helps solve specific, difficult in-service engineering problems.
Analyzes system requirements, capacity, cost, and customer needs to determine feasibility of project. Assists with estimates for quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor. Prepares and presents project recommendations to customer.
Prepares documentation containing information such as confidential descriptions and specifications of proprietary hardware and software, equipment development and introduction schedules, product costs, and information about system performance weaknesses.
Inspects electronic equipment, instruments, products, and systems to ensure conformance to specifications, safety standards, and quality standards.
Analyzes systemic failure data and trends to determine causes of problems and develops solutions. Recommends repair or design modifications based on factors such as environment, service, cost, and system capabilities. Balances company and customer needs.
Develops technical documentation and procedures for installation, maintenance, operation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. Documentation is written in accordance with technical specifications, program requirements and quality standards.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor Degree and no experience. In lieu of formal education 8 years related experience.
Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Self-aware learner working towards independent setup and operation of the overall data acquisition process
* Capability to anticipate customer needs and satisfy with innovative hardware/software solutions
* Solid communication skills
* Willingness to keep technical skills current with emerging technologies
