The Aerospace headquarters is based in Phoenix, Arizona. This position will be based in Aguadilla - Puerto Rico.

The Component Engineer is responsible for providing knowledge and expertise in selection, specification, application, and qualification of electronic parts for use in high reliability space systems. This position will require interfacing with design teams to assure reliable application of parts and interfacing with suppliers to assess part performance.

Selected candidate will be required to train for a period of time at one of the mainland facilities before being assigned to a Puerto Rico site.


Qualifications


Basic Qualifications:

* BS degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
* Strong knowledge of electronic components.
* Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible for a US Government security clearance.
* Excellent English communication skills, written and spoken.

Additional Qualifications:

* Must be able to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems associated with electronic parts
* Must be able to support failure investigations and implement solutions to solve field and production hardware failures
* Must be able to analyze and solve problems with electronic components, including technical issues, cost trades, and part obsolescence
* Must be able to identify and mitigate risk, solve difficult problems, and analyze complex systems
* Must be able to provide clear and articulate written and oral reports to project technical directors, management, and customers teams
* Must be able contribute to and interface with diverse teams.
* Must be able to learn and develop, and to lead by example.
* Experience with space, military, commercial, and aerospace customers' part technical requirements is preferred.
* Experience with military specifications is preferred.
* xperience in design or component engineering is preferred.
* Work experience on engineering development projects is preferred.
* Experience with Microsoft Professional Office tool suite is preferred.
* Aerospace background desired, but not required.
* PE and EIT certification will be considered, but not required .
