What You'll Do
At John Deere Electronic Solutions as Senior Manufacturing Test Engineer-Power Electronics you will design new and enhance existing manufacturing functional test systems for robust electronics intended for on/off road vehicles and harsh environments. In addition you will:
* Perform requirements capture, analysis, design, programming, debugging, hardware integration and verification.
* Focus on power electronics and testing of high power devices in a manufacturing environment.
* Provide technical guidance to other test team members and lead large test projects requiring more than one engineer.
What It Takes
We need an excellent communicator, who thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally you will have a BS degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or 5+ years of functional electronics manufacturing test experience. In addition we require:
* 3 + years of experience testing 2-450KW motor controllers, power converters or inverters.
* 3 + years of experience dealing with high voltage testing and development environment.
* 3 +years of experience in Labview.
A strong candidate will also have experience with Switch Reluctance, Permanent Magnet and 3-phase traction drive motors, experience with communication protocols (i.e. CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, USB, etc.) and experience with CMMI, ISO or other mature development models.
