Primary Function
The Business Systems Analyst II (Portfolio Management Services) is responsible for supporting, gathering and analyzing portfolio metrics for the IT Enterprise. The BSA II is responsible for establishing consensus among stakeholders and/or project team members in relationship to assigned deliverables. The BSA II provides leadership and a collaborative approach to integrating the stakeholder needs with the project activities and facilitating communication across the project and IT service teams involved in solution development related activities. The BSA II demonstrates the ability to perform job functions in an independent manner, with limited coaching. The BSA II is capable of performing on multiple projects and can be assigned as mentor to work closely with BSA I and peer team members, guiding them to execute job functions and related processes in alignment with company standards
Job Responsibilities and Activities
§ Assist with the data analysis that provides in-depth portfolio metrics to executive IT leaders.
§ Collaborate with Portfolio Managers, IT Finance, Vendor Management, and IT leadership to drive portfolio metric initiatives which result in increased accuracy.
§ Measure over 14 business area portfolios and report period based financial and ad-hoc metrics for leadership needs while seeking their feedback for further metric improvements.
§ Assist with process improvement initiatives which may include tool enhancements for annual planning, proper entries for asset depreciations, resource capacity planning, and data quality cleanup efforts.
§ Provide metric analysis for the annual project planning cycles across the IT organization.
§ Assist with initiatives surrounding portfolio funding exercises.
§ Subject matter expert of the portfolio management and reporting tools (Clarity) for the IT organization.
§ Assist with the materials supporting various governance meetings.
§ Aid in the support of the Clarity application which includes responding to service desk tickets.
§ Facilitates small to medium sized groups of individuals, representing significant diversity in interest and level of leadership, to a common understanding of a solution.
§ Fosters team building and self-driven skill development through active participation in appropriate training, mentoring, and certification programs.
§ Builds strong relationships with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, functional domain leadership, and other IT disciplines and service teams.
§ Participates in the mentoring of other BSA resources.
Job Requirements
Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related discipline or;
· 3-5 years relevant work experience
· Preferred work experience in IT, retail, or supply chain organization.
· Demonstrates a high level of customer service to support varying levels in the organization.
· Demonstrates strong public speaking and presentation skills.
· Demonstrate strong facilitation skills with the ability to drive toward common solutions.
· Demonstrate strong interviewing, listening, and observational skills used to identify and define business and technical needs.
· Demonstrate strong analytical and conceptual skills used to evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, while reconciling discrepancies.
· Demonstrate strong analytical modelling skills (models that clearly and easily communicate concepts to customers).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams
· Ability to manage competing priorities
· Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications with a strong emphasis in Excel and Powerpoint
