Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Controls Engineer opening to join our Tulsa, Oklahoma manufacturing facility.
Day to Day (what a typical day or week look like in this role)
You will provide technical expertise and leadership in developing, facilitating, implementing, and troubleshooting production systems across multiple production areas during second shift operations. This position will be responsible for cost, quality and safety improvements while maintaining daily operations to achieve division goals in a facility that produces freestanding ranges.
Qualifications
What You Will Do
· Specify, design, develop and qualify new controls system designs per Whirlpool Corporation standards
· Interact with production and technology centers (product engineering) to translate consumer needs into system specifications
· Identify, analyze and solve control system related problems
· Assist or lead the development of control systems and system level process FMEA's
What You Need To Succeed
· A B.S. in electrical engineering (degree is not required if equivalent knowledge from experience can be verified)
· 3 years experience in controls engineering is preferred
· Willingness to work second or third shift
· A broad understanding of hardware design, industrial control design and production techniques
· Outstanding people skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader
· A self starter with excellent project management skills
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
· Ability to travel and meet with equipment suppliers and other Whirlpool facilities
· SixSigma certification a strong plus
· Extensive knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC hardware and software
· Work with minimal supervision
· Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, stoop, kneel, squat and stand for long periods of time
