JOB SUMMARY:


The Pharmacy Services Representative performs necessary pharmacy services and prescription benefit related functions for internal customers, members, physicians and pharmacies. Performs other related work as required or assigned.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Triage Prior authorization requests through the new pharmacy prior authorization system.
* Review prior authorization forms for accuracy and completeness.
* Assist technicians in searching and resolving problems involving prior authorization requests.
* Generate member approval and denial letters.
* Answer phone calls for prior authorization inquiries.
* Organize and maintain files.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:



Education:
High school diploma or GED.



Certification/License:


Experience:

*
Minimum one year pharmacy or managed care experience.
*
Experience with QCare, MC400, AdvancePCS, IMAX.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Drug knowledge required.
* Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Ability to accurately type 30 wpm.
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Professional telephone etiquette required.
