Position Profile: The Electromechanical & Cable Harness Process Engineer will develop, design and document processes and equipment operating procedures in support of the build of high performance data links for L-3 Communications - a leader and prime defense contractor in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and secure communications.
Competencies: The Electromechanical & Cable Harness Process Engineer will be familiar with electromechanical and cable harness assemblies and develop process and equipment improvements for enhanced quality and efficiency.
* Ability to determine and recommend tooling, instrumentation, equipment and facilities required for the production of wire and cable harnesses and electromechanical assemblies.
* Knowledgeable and skilled in manufacturing terminology and practices.
* Skilled in technical problem solving and understand military specifications for indoor and outdoor applications.
* Competent in understanding engineering change orders and have a familiarity with IPC 610 and/or IPC 620 workmanship standards.
* Provide excellent customer service to a variety of internal and external customers.
* Capable of working in a fast-paced and high-accuracy environment while remaining calm and effective.
* Ability to maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times.
* Reasonable judgment and decision-making ability to define and meet performance requirements.
Education/Experience: This position requires a Bachelors degree in Engineering and two plus (2+) years of related manufacturing experience. Proficiency in MS Office is desired. Lean manufacturing experience and training is a plus. Ability to interact in a matrix management environment and a willingness to work overtime as required.
Special Requirements:
* Due to the nature of our work this position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
