Position Profile:The selected candidate will develop and qualify EMC constraints that are part of design and test of a system or product
Responsibilities:
* Recommending applicable EMC tests to satisfy customer requirements
* Providing direction in the areas of system and LRU packaging and partitioning, internal and external cable design and shielding, grounding and isolation requirements, CCA layout recommendations, schematic development, design trade-off topology and analysis, and simulation activities
* Preparing EMC Control Plans, the EMC Test Plans and Procedures, EMC Test Reports and other documents pertaining to EMC test efforts
* Performing test readiness reviews before EMI testing
* Directing EMI/EMC testing and leading EMC debug efforts
* As a member of the EMC team you will perform analysis as required with tools such as SPICE and circuit simulators to understand board level and system level EMC issues.
Competencies:
* Candidates for this position need an understanding of Electromagnetic theory and have hands-on experience with EMC design and EMI testing.
* This person should be familiar with radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibilities of systems, system signal and power coupling effects, and EMC containment and source suppression design techniques.
* The candidate should also possess understanding of commercial and military standards and EM effects.
* BSEE with 7 years directly related experience is required to qualify for this position.
* Qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
* Experience with any EMC simulation software tools is a plus.
* Experience with common lab tools including Spectrum Analyzers, TDRs, Network Analyzers, VNAs, BERTS, etc. is essential.
* The individual must be able to work from oral and written instructions, be dependable, positive, assertive, a team player and have a strong desire to succeed.
* Must have great communications skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the manufacturing and engineering process while contributing in a high performance team environment to meet customer needs.
* Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
