Position Profile:
The Environmental Test Engineer will provide a variety of duties related to the environmental testing of complex cable assemblies, circuit cards, and other assemblies that combine to form a state-of-the-art networked data link in support of all aspects of the high performance data link systems and products for L-3 Communications the sixth largest defense contractor in the United States.
Competencies:
* The Environmental Test Engineer will create and performs bench environmental testing of varied products.
* Understand basic electrical theory and electronics test equipment and how they react to environmental stimulus.
* Read and interpret diagrams, tables and schematics to isolate problems.
* Create and work from written test procedures and specification drawings to validate hardware.
* Ability to conduct hardware-software debugging and perform problem isolation.
* Capable of developing test processes to validate product performance contributing to the manufacturing process improvement.
* Effective communication skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the manufacturing process.
* Must be a self-starter and willing to work with others in a team environment.
* Experience with environmental Test equipment and MIL-STD-810 is desired.
Education Requirements: BS in Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years related work experience.
Special Requirements:
Due to the nature of our work this position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Final Secret or higher security clearance.
This position may require overtime, weekend, holiday and/or second shift work.
