Shipboard Electrician
Long Description:
Experience using various hand and power tools, and follow directions. Must have a shipboard electrical background with experience installing cables through shipboard cableways, performing terminations in junction boxes and building connector plugs utilizing crimp and/or solder terminations. The candidate must be skilled with typical hand tools, power tolls, crimping and soldering tools, and the proper use of electrical test equipment, such as multi-meters and meggers. The candidate must provide their own basic PPE to include proper safety shoes, eye protection, and hard hat. Repairs, tests, and maintains electrical equipment, machinery, and systems such as generators, alternators, motors, and intercommunication systems. Makes inspection round of electrical equipment and maintains records and schedules of tasks and inspections. High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate. Five (5) years related shipboard experience. Experience with Mil-Spec fiber optic connectors is a plus. Must have or be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Must be capable of reading and interpreting submarine ship installation drawings, manufacturing, assembly drawings, and technical manuals. U.S. citizenship is required.
