Position Description
Assists the Food Service Director by managing kitchen production employees and activities. Level of impact is within own operation.

Key Responsibilities
· Plan, direct and coordinate the activities of production employees in order to prepare and deliver finished food product to a serving area for consumption
· Responsible for purchasing, receiving, and managing food production activities
· Directly supervise two or more employees with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and compensation increases
· Maintains food production records, plans and costs menus
· Ensures appropriate sanitation standards and requirements are met
· Responsible for insuring procedural compliance in support of workplace safety
· Inventory control
· Serv Safe certified
· Coordinates activities with other internal departments, participates in management team meetings, interfaces with Vendors and (customers) key service users within client organization
· Responsible for all aspects of Employee training
· Responsible for insuring compliance with Brand standards, procedures and specifications
· Ensures standard of 90/10 rule is met in kitchen

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor's degree or related culinary degree with 2+ years of supervisory experience in contract/institutional food preparation and service. The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services is essential to success in this role. Solid supervisory skills, organizational skill and time management skills are required. P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is desirable.
